Girl on the Go Skincare Routine

Over the past couple years I've become increasingly interested in the Glossier approach to skin and makeup; the concept of skin first, makeup second, and pretty much everything else—simplified. Although I'm a total skincare enthusiast, I'm also a busy college student, intern, and at times—an irresponsible twenty year old who doesn't plan nearly enough time in the day to stick to a 10 step skincare routine. Today, I've created a list of my holy grail skincare items that simplify my skincare and require little to no extra time in the bathroom. Take a look at some of my favorite products below:

Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Face Wash, ($30 -

I originally purchased this cleanser as my daily face cleanser and still use it every morning when I wash my face at the sink. A small pump of this goes a long way, and this foaming face wash is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin while still keeping your skin clean + clear. I gravitate towards extremely mild products for my skin, and this product has helped to keep my skin clear without the need for a plethora of different skin clearing washes or any abrasive cleansers.

BELIF The True Cream Aqua Bomb ($38 -

This is my all time favorite moisturizer for a couple of reasons. This moisturizer rehydrates your skin unlike any other, and it's extremely lightweight without leaving any greasy or oily residue after applying. Whenever I apply this moisturizer my skin feels plumper and less tired, and I love how soft my skin feels immediately after using it. On a daily basis, I tend to stick to a simple face cleanser and this moisturizer--for my skin, it reacts better to 'less is more'.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, ($48 -

Truth Serum is one of the few serums I use in my beauty routine, and I use this serum on a once-in-a-while basis whenever I want some extra help in evening out and brightening my complexion. This serum has vitamin C and collagen for brightening and hydration, and I tend to only use this on nights when I feel that my skin needs some extra help.

Meladerm ($50 -

Meladerm is a cream product that acts like a serum, specifically targeting acne scars and uneven skin tone. This is one of my favorite products for fading acne scars effectively, and after using this product for a few months, I saw nearly all of my acne scars fade into oblivion. I use this product once a day before applying moisturizer.

Indian Healing Clay Mask ($7 -

If I'm ever in the mood to do a face mask, I tend to use a mask that will powerfully target acne and draw out impurities from my skin. The Indian Healing Clay Mask is the perfect detox mask for occasional use, and I mix the clay powder with a bit of apple cider vinegar for the best results.

St Ives Apricot Scrub ($3 -

This scrub is one of my favorites for exfoliation. I exfoliate my skin about once or twice a week to keep it feeling fresh, and this scrub is a simple exfoliator/face wash combination that gets the job done. It's cheap, easy to access in most drugstores, and it smells like apricots!

Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray ($7 -

Rose water spray is another product I love just for the hell of it, and it's a fun pick me up for tired looking skin. It has a great scent and adds a bit of hydration to your skin when your skin is feeling dry or tight. I also use this as a setting spray when applying makeup in the morning, as I've found it's a bit more hydrating than traditional makeup setting spray.
